Let’s be clear. I really enjoy summer. Baseball is my favorite sport. There is “enough going on” in the sports world with a full MLB slate. The lazy hazy days of summer are something I spend the entire winter pining for. I’m not about to wish them away waiting for football season. Like the finale of a fireworks show I consider football season to be the finale of summer. During the next two months all levels of football will going on along with baseball. Then like a dissipating thunderstorm November comes and with it the end of baseball season, the high school regular season, and daylight savings time. Thanksgiving rolls around and we lose college football leaving only the NFL. Once the Super Bowl is over it’s cold and dark. Leaving only college hoops to help me limp along until baseball starts again. But all of that is a few months off. Let’s let loose with Friday Night Lights, 14 Glorious Saturdays, and NFL Sunday. Don’t blink it goes by real fast.
